The perfect candidate for dental implants is generally somebody who's missing one or more teeth. A single implant can be used as an alternative to a dental bridge to replace a missing single tooth. The most common reason for missing a single tooth is trauma or a failed root canal. In those situations, dental implants provide the ideal solution because it allows us to replace the missing tooth without involving the adjacent teeth.
A dental implant can be placed in the single visit, provided there's adequate bone. In cases where bone is not adequate, bone can be added to the site, which will generally involve placing the implant in the second surgery. Generally, the recovery period for a dental implant is a day or two at the most. If you'd like more information about dental implants, please contact our office for a free consultation.
