Dental bridges are another option to replace missing teeth. However, this method requires reducing and reshaping teeth on either side of the gap so that they can support crowns. The crowns then support a prosthetic tooth.
A traditional dental bridge restores your bite, but because it is not attached to the jawbone, it can't prevent bone recession.
