Today's Modern Denture Choices
Traditional Full Dentures
Traditional full dentures are removable dentures that rest on your gums, held in place by suction and adhesives. The gum-colored base and natural-looking artificial teeth allow you to smile with confidence. While traditional dentures are the most basic option, there's nothing old-fashioned about the way Dr. Slaman uses digital X-rays and advanced cone-beam CT scans to create a 3-D image of your mouth. This precision mapping is the secret to creating dentures with a snug, comfortable fit.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Implant-supported dentures are the closest option to restoring your natural teeth. Like other dentures, they feature artificial teeth and gums, however, the denture itself is securely held in place by dental implants, small titanium posts that are surgically placed in your jaw. These dentures will never slip, and they let you enjoy the foods you've been missing. Dental implants also have an important health benefit. Implants act as an artificial tooth root and stimulate the bone in your jaw to keep it from deteriorating and causing future dental problems.
Partial Dentures
Are you missing a tooth here or there, or perhaps a row of teeth? Dr. Slaman can design a partial denture that fills the gaps in your smile. Like traditional dentures, partial dentures are designed with your smile in mind. They're typically held in place with clips that attach to neighboring teeth, but they can also be implant-supported. Whichever solution you choose, Dr. Slaman uses high-quality dental materials for each tooth to ensure they blend discreetly into your smile.
A Life-Changing Choice Implant-Supported Dentures
Am I Good Candidate
for Implant-Supported Dentures?
Yes, If You Have Healthy Gums
To stay in place, implants fuse with your gums and jaw in a process called osseointegration. If you have unhealthy gums — and many patients with missing teeth do have gum disease —you'll likely need periodontal care first, which we offer. Once you've been treated, we can then explore implants.
Yes, If You Have Enough Bone
When we lose our natural teeth, we can commonly lose bone. Luckily, implants can stimulate your bone tissue. For patients without the proper amount of material for implants, we feature sinus grafts and bone grafts. We can also potentially steer you to All-on-4 implants and dentures, which need less bone tissue.
Yes, If You're Missing Teeth
You can still find the help you need, even if you have severely broken or decayed teeth. If he has determined your teeth cannot be helped, our Albuquerque, NM, dentist can perform tooth extraction to prepare your mouth for both implant-supported and traditional dentures.
Do You Lack the Bone Density
Needed for Implants?
All-on-4® Dentures Allow More People to Qualify
People who have been missing teeth for a long time often lack the bone density needed to support dental implants. Some of them may now qualify with the All-on-4® method to secure dentures. This technique uses just four strategically placed dental implants to support a full arch denture.
There are even more benefits. The All-on-4® method can involve a shorter recovery time. Plus, in many cases, a denture can be placed immediately, so you don't have to wait as long for a complete smile. If you're curious, we can guide you to a local specialist for All-on-4 treatment.

Can Insurance Help With the Cost of My Dentures?
The answer depends on your plan, type of denture, and specific treatment needs. We can discuss all of these during your consultation.
Generally speaking, though, insurance will contribute to the costs of your denture itself, as teeth are fundamental to a person's health and oral function. Unfortunately, while dental implants can prevent bone loss, they will not be eligible for any assistance from insurance.
How Can I Pay for My New Dentures?
For costs that insurance doesn't cover, like implants or sedation, you have several options. They are:
Cash or Card
Our Albuquerque team accepts cash and most major credit cards. Whether you want to use them to pay partially or full, we're happy to help you find a course of payment that works best for your needs.
Payment Plans
If you are having difficulty fitting dentures into your budget, call our practice in Albuquerque. Our knowledgeable staff can work with you to create a payment plan that fits your individual financial needs.
Dental Financing
Patients can also take advantage of flexible financing through CareCredit®. This lender offers different plans, so you can pay for your new dentures in more manageable monthly installments.
